My most recent position was as a Multimedia Assistant with Bara Barang Aboriginal Corporation. A small company that was constantly transforming itself, I took on many roles and responsibilities in addition to my primary role as video editor: I trained Work for the Dole participants in videography, editing, and social media; I ran multimedia demonstrations on open days during NAIDOC week; I wrote an educational curriculum for Central Coast Community College; maintained the Bara Barang website and social media; and wrote many successful funding proposals. I was often praised for taking initiative and going above and beyond.
Passionate about video editing, I was fortunate to have the opportunities to work with clients on fulfilling their briefs to deadline and creating a portfolio I am proud of. I pitched, scripted, and edited 'Malinga', a documentary show about Indigenous Art on the Central Coast - the first episode was a finalist in the Blue2Blue International Drone Film Festival and the complete series will air on NITV in May. I also assisted in creating and editing web content for Central Coast Health, background multimedia for a NAISDA Dance Academy performance, advertisements for Nyanga Walang cultural tours now shown on P&O cruises, and a music video for Music Pro. All of these were meticulously constructed as part of a small team environment that encouraged critical feedback and perfectionism.
I have strong proofreading skills and type at 65WPM. I have the Adobe Suite on my Macbook Pro. I can code, make gifs, have an account with dozens of social media platforms, and I have had several tweets go viral since I started using Twitter in 2009. I have been an active member of online fandom communities since 2001. A jack of all trades, I also have experience as a Diversional Therapist in a nursing home, an office assistant, a barista, an SEO freelancer, and a Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management, and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Arts at Charles Sturt University. I have food safety training and love to cook. I hope it is obvious from my varied career history, education, and skillsets, that I am willing to try my hand at everything and anything life has to offer, and I love learning new skills.
